Our story

The origins of Alfa Framtak

In 2010 Friðrik Jóhannsson and Gunnar Páll Tryggvason led restructuring projects as economic conditions in Europe were dire. Their collaboration became Icora Partners, an advisory boutique focused on M&A and restructuring in Iceland, Denmark, Latvia, and the Czech Republic.

Between 2010 and 2017 the team completed 20 transactions with an aggregate size of €2BN, including the restructuring of leading European food manufacturers Hamé and Laima.

Icora Partners also served as an exclusive financial advisor on several transactions, including the sale of the Hotel D'Angleterre in Denmark and Vörður Insurance in Iceland.

In 2018, Icora Partners changed its name to Alfa Framtak and shifted focus to alternative asset management.
